Bac Giang fully grasps cases applied health monitor

(BGO) - The provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province (PPC) held a brief meeting on 13 February afternoon to evaluate the situations and progress of the prevention and control of the acute respiratory disease caused by new strain of coronavirus (Covid-19). Le Anh Duong, PPC Vice Chairman, Deputy Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control chaired the meeting.

To date, there are 3,646 foreigners living in the province including 2,574 Chinese people, 100 of whom are from Hubei province. Besides, 9,043 Vietnamese people returned from China before, during and after Tet holiday.

The districts and city in the province have proactively implemented a number of measures to control, apply health monitor and quarantine people who had come back from the affected areas. Currently, 43 people have been put in 3 concentrated isolation areas.

The healthcare bases expanded the specially isolated treatment areas. Particularly, the provincial General Hospital is provided 200 beds and each district’s medical center is provided 20 to 30 beds. The provincial Steering Committee arranged the first field hospital in the provincial Endocrinology Hospital in case of receiving a large number of infected patients. The province will prepare another field hospital at the provincial Sports Stadium when necessary.

In his conclusion, PPC Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong highly appreciated the great efforts of the sectors and localities in epidemic prevention. Thanks to effective implementation of urgent measures, no Covid-19 infected cases have been reported in the province to date.

Besides, he also marked some shortcomings in supervising the list of people coming from the affected areas especially from China in different ways.

In coming time, the sectors and localities need to continue strictly implementing the Central’s and province’s directions on disease prevention and control while raising sense of responsibility among the sectors and forces involved in the epidemic prevention.

The districts and city should continue checking and firmly grasping cases applied health monitor especially those who came back from China within 14 days and those who are returning from China.

The Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism is requested to check the hotels and guest houses to invite new related people into the isolation areas.

The levels, sectors, units and localities need to supplement equipment and facilities as planned to ensure preparation for the epidemic prevention.

When the epidemical situation becomes better, the education sector can allow students back to school since 17 February. The schools need to regularly clean classes, arrange hand basins and request students to wash their hands with soap and wear face masks.

The districts and city need to reduce crowd activities and apply health monitor for each person in the villages or residential groups. It is necessary to continue strengthening foreign labor management in terms of immigration and temporary residence in the industrial parks.
