Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee hosts press conference on socio-economic development

BAC GIANG- The provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province (PPC) has hosted a press conference on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in 2024, main targets, tasks and solutions for 2025. PPC Acting Chairman Mai Son and representatives of the PPC’s Office and Department of Information and Communication co-chaired the conference.

Despite facing many difficulties, Bac Giang province continues gaining great achievements in 2024 thanks to the unity in leadership and direction of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee in line with active involvement of the levels and sectors, fatherland front and socio-political organizations and consensus of the people and business community. 15 out of 18 targets have been completed and surpassed the plan.

The annual economic growth rate (GRDP) is estimated at 13.85 percent, leading the nation. Many fundamental targets are higher than the national average. Industrial production is the main driving force for growth when service sector has been robustly developed.

The total budget revenue is estimated at over 19.1 trillion VND (750.2 million USD), surpassing the assigned estimation by 22 percent.

Improvement of the investment and business climate has been paid arduous attention when the province is ranked 9th nationwide in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction. The cutting-edge education achieved outstanding results.

Bac Giang province set out 18 fundamental targets for 2025 including 9 economic, 5 social and 4 environmental targets. Particularly, the province’ is targeted a GRDP growth rate of 13.6 percent, per capita GRDP of 4,900 USD and poverty rate of 0.9 percent.

In order to achieve these targets, the province worked out some tasks and solutions with a focus on renewing the mindset in task implementation and removing obstacles and bottlenecks that hinder development.

In addition, the province will pay attention to strengthen and develop the growth drivers attached to economic restructuring. It will also concentrate on modern synchronous infrastructure, especially inter-regional traffic, industrial, urban and digital infrastructure.

It is targeted to effectively manage natural resources and minerals and protect environment. Medical services, people’s healthcare and population quality will be improved.

After grasping the province’s socio-economic situation, reporters asked a number of questions to clarify some issues such as experience in FDI attraction, administrative reform in management of public officials’ records, arrangement plan for headquarter of the people’s committee of Chu township and new Luc Ngan district after the administrative unit arrangement.

Regarding the issues raised by the reporters, representatives of the provincial departments and agencies provided more information and discussed to clarify.
