Within their stay, the Xaysomboun delegation participated in three thematic conferences and experience-sharing sessions jointly organised by the Departments of Agriculture and Environment of both provinces.

An overview of the meeting.

The discussions focused on practical areas such as land management, environmental protection, and planning, construction, and operation of reservoirs and irrigation systems.

Bac Ninh province also facilitated field visits for the delegation to observe and study practical models, including a waste treatment plant in an industrial park, irrigation projects, and land management models in Bac Giang ward.

A representative of the Xaysomboun delegation expressed deep gratitude for the warm and thoughtful hospitality extended by Bac Ninh province. He affirmed that the knowledge and experiences gained from the visit are highly valuable and practically significant.

The delegation members will apply these insights to their local practices, contributing to the enhancement of provincial management capacity and gradual improvement of people’s living standards, especially in rural areas of Xaysomboun.

During the reception, Vice Chairman Loi emphasised the strong traditional relationship between the two localities.

Based on previously signed agreements, Bac Ninh’s departments and sectors are actively implementing practical cooperation programmes and activities, including delegations’ exchanges, professional experience sharing, and support for human resource training.

Notably, in the 2026 cooperation plan, Bac Ninh province will organise high-level delegations to visit and work in Xaysomboun and Houaphanh provinces.

This will be an opportunity for local leaders to discuss future cooperation directions in greater depth, particularly in agriculture, natural resources and environmental management, infrastructure development, and improving citizens’ quality of life.

The Bac Ninh official also shared the socio-economic development of the province since its merger with Bac Giang province, highlighting outstanding achievements in crop restructuring, development of concentrated agricultural production zones, application of high technology, as well as land management, environmental protection, and consolidation of irrigation and dike systems.
