Bac Ninh earmarks over 71.2 billion VND for energy efficiency programme
BAC NINH - Authorities in Bac Ninh province have approved a plan to implement the national programme on economical and efficient energy use for the 2026–2030 period, with total funding exceeding 71.2 billion VND (2.7 million USD).
The plan aims to promote energy conservation and ensure energy security, targeting savings of 8–10% of total energy consumption across the province compared with a business-as-usual scenario during the period.

Annual electricity savings are set at a minimum of 2% of total consumption, while power loss rates are expected to fall below 2.5% by 2030.
Specific targets include requiring all public administrative units to cut electricity use by at least 5%, rising to 10% for those equipped with rooftop solar systems. By 2030, half of government office buildings and 50% of households are expected to use self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power.
The plan also calls for all public lighting systems to switch to high-efficiency LED technology.
Of the total funding, 4.3 billion VND will come from the central budget, 37.3 billion VND from the provincial budget, with the remainder mobilised from organisations, businesses and other legal sources.
