A trade promotion fair for localities in the Red River Delta opened on November 10 in the northern province of Hung Yen, aiming to foster regional connectivity, promote sustainable development and enhance brand of regional products.

The event is part of the National Trade Promotion Programme, jointly organised by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Hung Yen provincial People’s Committee.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietrade Director General Vu Ba Phu stressed that the fair serves as an important trade promotion channel, helping connect producers in the Red River Delta with potential markets more effectively.

It also acts as a bridge for investors and suppliers to seek cooperation opportunities, expand production and processing, and enhance the added value of local products across the northern region and the country as a whole.

Through the fair, businesses and cooperatives are expected to seize opportunities to promote their brands, find partners, improve competitiveness, and enhance product quality to better meet domestic demand and move toward exports, Phu said.

He also encouraged distributors, retailers, and consumers to prioritize high-quality local products, thereby supporting farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural growth while further spreading the reputation of regional specialties.

Vice Chairman of the Hung Yen provincial People’s Committee Le Quang Hoa, who is also head of the organising board, said the seven-day fair featured nearly 300 booths from 200 businesses, cooperatives, and trade promotion organisations from both home and abroad.

This year’s event showcases a wide variety of products in six main categories, including OCOP (One Commune, One Product) items, agricultural and processed food products, rural development materials, handicrafts and traditional village goods, ornamental plants, fashion items, and essential consumer products.

For Hung Yen, the fair is also an opportunity to honor and promote the province’s typical products, especially OCOP and outstanding rural industrial goods, to domestic consumers and international partners.
