BAC NINH- These days, tourists from near and far are flocking to golden orchards of ripe orange and pomelo in the communes and wards of Chu, Luc Ngan, Phuong Son and Luc Son. Everyone is overwhelmed by the beautiful natural landscapes and enjoys picking fruits right in the gardens. Meanwhile, many gardeners, cooperatives and firms are busy preparing for “Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025”.

This time, orange and pomelo orchards in the wards and communes of Phuong Son, Chu, Luc Ngan, Nam Duong and Luc Son are bustling with traders coming to purchase products and tourists. Farmers are happy with a bumper orange and pomelo crop while tourists are joyful to immerse themselves in the space of sweet fruits.

Tourists flock to orange and pomelo orchards in Chu ward.

The orchards and eco-tourist sites such as Hoa Qua Son in Xe Cu residential group (Chu ward), Trinh Su Hoa’s gardens in Cong village (Kien Lao commune) and Bau Tien in Dong Dao residential group (Phuong Son ward) are attracting a big number of visitors.

At weekends, these places lure tens of tourist delegations from other provinces to experience and purchase products.

This year, the “Bac Ninh Fruit Festival 2025” will be held from 5 to 11 December in Chu ward at provincial-level.

In order to welcome the increasing number of tourists in ripe fruit season and at the festival, travel agents, cooperatives, gardeners and local government have invested in traffic infrastructure, completed accommodations and restaurants and bought vehicles (electric cars, motorcycles and bicycles) to serve tourists.

35 cooperatives have registered tourism business line in the wards and communes of former Luc Ngan district. The cooperatives allocated funds for land purchasing, construction, improving landscapes and cultivating fruits following organic and safe standards while developing new diverse and attractive tourism products to lure visitors.

Particularly, Garden Viet Experiential Tourism Cooperative (in Bong 2 residential group, Chu ward) spent over 7 billion VND (265,131 USD) to build wood stilt houses, swimming pools, check-in places and restaurants to serve tourists, according to Dinh Phuong Nam, cooperative member.

Since beginning of the orange and pomelo season, his tourist facility has partnered with many travel agents to welcome more than 1,000 tourists from different provinces and cities like Bac Ninh, Ha Noi, Can Tho, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh city as well as those from other countries including Japan, Republic of Korea and China for sightseeing and relaxing.

In addition to visitors using services at their facility, the cooperative and Nam’s family collaborate with citrus, grape, and melon orchards, Thu Duong craft village (in Nam Dương commune), spiritual tourism sites and nearby hotels and guesthouses to take tourists there for recreation and relaxation.

“In line with arranging places to visit and accommodations for tourists, we prepare many special local dishes such as Chu rice noodle, Phong Van horse fermented roll, well-cooked pork, forest vegetable and stream fish, especially Kien Thanh traditional herbal-yeast wine of Nung ethnic people to serve tourists”, said Nam.
