Bac Ninh pledges long-term support for Samsung
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai met with a delegation from South Korea's Samsung Electronics, reaffirming the northern province's commitment to supporting the technology giant's long-term investment while encouraging broader cooperation in high-tech industries, research and development, innovation and workforce training.
The Samsung delegation was led by Park Soon Cheol, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Samsung Electronics.

Welcoming the delegation on July 2, Nguyen Hong Thai praised Samsung's continued commitment to Bac Ninh and said his recent visit to the company's headquarters in South Korea had provided deeper insight into Samsung's development, governance model, innovation capacity and long-term strategic vision.
He reiterated that Bac Ninh consistently views the success of businesses as the province's own success, adding that local authorities would continue listening to investors' concerns, resolving difficulties and creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises to maintain stable, efficient and long-term operations.

The province is implementing a range of measures to promote science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in line with national policies.
It is also investing in transport infrastructure, industrial parks, human resource development and improvements to the investment and business environment to attract large-scale, high-tech projects.
The provincial Party Chief hoped Samsung will continue expanding the effectiveness of its existing projects while exploring new opportunities in high technology, research and development (R&D), innovation, high-quality workforce training and the development of a supporting industries ecosystem.

He reaffirmed the province's commitment to accompanying Samsung and ensuring favorable conditions for the company's sustainable and long-term development in Bac Ninh.
Speaking on behalf of Samsung Electronics, Park Soon Cheol thanked provincial leaders for their warm reception and praised Bac Ninh's investment climate and the effective support local authorities have provided to Samsung and other businesses over the years.
He said Bac Ninh continues to play a crucial role in Samsung's global investment and development strategy.
The company will work closely with the provincial government to ensure the successful implementation of its existing projects while exploring new cooperation opportunities in high technology and innovation, contributing to the province's socio-economic development and strengthening Vietnam–South Korea relations.
The two sides also discussed Samsung's investment, production and business operations in Bac Ninh, policies to support enterprises, the development of supporting industries, high-quality workforce training and future cooperation plans.
Earlier the same day, Bac Ninh People's Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Samsung Vietnam jointly held a conference to review the Vietnam Enterprise Support Programme in Bac Ninh for the 2020–2025 period, sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the 2026–2030 phase and launch the 2026 Programme.

At the conference, Bac Ninh People's Committee and Samsung Vietnam officially signed an MoU on cooperation for 2026–2030. Under the 2026 Programme, the two sides will launch smart mold consulting and smart factory development projects to help Vietnamese enterprises adopt green growth models, reduce emissions and pursue sustainable development.
Delegates also visited improvement models at Thang Long Packaging Manufacturing and Import-Export Joint Stock Company in Tu Son Ward, one of the representative enterprises participating in Samsung's Smart Factory Development Programme.
