Bac Ninh provincial leader attends Vietnam–Korea economic forum, signs 200 million USD investment deal
BAC NINH – Continuing the working programme of the delegation led by General Secretary To Lam during his state visit to South Korea, Vuong Quoc Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC), attended the Vietnam–Korea Economic Forum on August 12 under the theme “Cooperation in developing production chains in the new era.”
In meetings with South Korean partners and businesses, the Bac Ninh provincial leader outlined local advantages, investment incentives and the performance of Korean companies operating in the province.

In the first seven months of 2025, Bac Ninh licensed 237 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth over 1.09 billion USD and approved capital increases for 155 projects totalling 2.51 billion USD.
As of July 20, the province had 3,284 valid projects from 44 countries and territories with total registered capital exceeding 45 billion USD.
Industrial production reached more than 51 billion USD, with South Korea leading in investment, projects and exports. Korean enterprises account for about 40% of the province’s industrial output, with 1,142 active projects worth 18.5 billion USD in registered capital.
The PPC Chairman urged Korean businesses to explore cooperation and investment opportunities, pledging that the province would provide optimal conditions for efficient operations.
On the occasion, Tuan signed a memorandum of understanding with SI FLEX Vietnam Co. Ltd. to expand its project in Quang Chau Industrial Park, adding 200 million USD and raising total investment to 499 million USD.
The company, which began operations in 2014 producing electronic circuit boards, currently employs 5,400 workers with average monthly salaries of 12.5 million VND, exports 600 million USD annually, and contributes over 70 billion VND to the budget.

The expansion, scheduled for 2027–2028, is expected to create 3,600 jobs, boost annual exports to over 1 billion USD and contribute more than 100 billion VND to the budget.
Later on August 12, the Bac Ninh provincial leader joined meeting with 18 major South Korean conglomerates to discuss future investment directions and cooperation in industry, energy, technology, services, and infrastructure.
At the event, the representatives of several major South Korean conglomerates outlined their upcoming investment directions and offered recommendations to strengthen cooperation in industry, energy, technology, services and infrastructure.
