The Bac Ninh OCOP Product Evaluation Council on December 24 held a meeting to assess and classify OCOP products for 2025.

As of December 22, 2025, Bac Ninh had 668 OCOP products rated three stars or higher, including one five-star product, 74 four-star products and 593 three-star products, making it one of the provinces with the highest number of OCOP products nationwide.

In terms of product categories, Bac Ninh has developed a diverse OCOP product ecosystem. Food products accounted for the largest share, with 507 items, or 76% of the total. Beverage products numbered 77, or 11.5%, while herbal and herbal-based products totalled 10, or 1.5%.

Handicrafts accounted for 68 products, or 10.1%, ornamental plants for two products, or 0.3%, and community-based tourism, eco-tourism services and tourist sites for four products, or 0.6%, the council said.

This year, the council received 117 product dossiers submitted for evaluation and classification.

At the meeting, delegates said the products under review were potential, key and locally distinctive items. Product owners had improved quality certification documents and upgraded packaging to better match product characteristics, they said.

Many products have obtained international and domestic certifications such as ISO 22000, HACCP, VietGAP and organic standards, meeting export requirements. Several handicraft products were also linked to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values, according to the council.

Based on evaluation scores, the council agreed to propose that the Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee officially recognise 114 products as OCOP, including six four-star products and 108 three-star products.
