Coordinated efforts to remove bottlenecks and accelerate social housing projects

Updated: 11:06, 23/07/2025

BAC NINH - Meeting housing demands for workers, especially those in industrial zones, remains a pressing issue for provinces with strong industrial growth. After the merger, Bac Ninh province has inherited and furthered efforts from both localities, creating greater synergy to address this issue comprehensively and effectively.

After the merger, Bac Ninh province is tasked with completing 15,920 social housing units in 2025 (including 10,686 units from former Bac Ninh and 5,234 units from Bac Giang).

The Evergreen Bac Giang social housing project in Nenh Ward supplies thousands of apartments.

Nguyen Tuan Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, said that in the first six months of 2025, the province completed or partially completed a total of 13 projects, supplying 8,124 social housing units, reaching 51.03% of the Government’s assigned target of 15,920 units.

Recently, a review showed that the province has an additional 15 projects under construction registering to complete 8,161 units by year-end.

Many developers and contractors are expediting progress, determined to finish early, significantly contributing to the province’s social housing development goals.

Workers in Yen Phong 1 Industrial Park own apartments close to their workplace.

With these positive signals, Bac Ninh is well positioned to achieve, or even exceed, the target set by the Prime Minister for 2025.

Under Decision No. 444/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2025, the Government assigned Bac Ninh province the target of completing over 135,000 units in 2025-2030, including 15,920 units in 2025 and nearly 18,140 units in 2026. This is an ambitious goal requiring the concerted efforts of the entire political system.
