Engineer Nguyen Quang Huy: Young intellectual with many initiatives
Typical among the technical initiatives proposed and implemented by Huy is the smart station control and monitoring system. According to him, Bac Giang’s telecommunications system currently has about 500 stations, but the number of staff is very small, so it is very difficult to detect and promptly handle problems.

Facing that fact, in 2017, Huy had the idea to build a system for controlling and monitoring the parameters in the station. He studied drawings and joined hands with his colleagues to implement the project.
After 4 months of implementation, the team completed the smart station control and monitoring system with the functions of messaging to warn incidents; displaying the station’s information and status according to the real time; electrical safety management; automatic operation mode of blower and air conditioner based on station temperature and ambient temperature; camera tracking; and providing reports at professional request, thereby helping to ensure regular management and reduce labor and related costs.
Nguyen Van Dinh, officer in charge of the station, said: "Since the smart control system is in place, the work is more convenient, especially when it's raining and stormy, and traveling is difficult. By phone, I can monitor and control the incidents. Specifically, when the power is out, with some clicks on the phone, I can make the transformer work and do not need to run to the station to deal with it."
Currently, the smart station control and monitoring system has been applied at 100 stations in the province. The initiative won the first prize at the 7th Bac Giang provincial Technical Innovation Contest in 2017 and was honored in the 2018 Vietnam Innovation Golden Book.
In 2018, Huy continued to upgrade the system to improve operational efficiency. Instead of using only electricity from the grid as before, he designed a plan to automatically switch the power source so that the system can use solar power to save costs. The model is currently being piloted at the telecommunications station in Bac Giang city.
In addition, he has had many ideas and actively participated in developing the HIS hospital management software for the Anh Quat General Hospital; deploying the hospital, testing and imaging management systems for the medical centers of the districts.
Graduated from the University of Information and Communication Technology under the Thai Nguyen University as an IT engineer, Huy ever struggled with many jobs and working places until 2015, before officially working at the Information Technology Center of VNPT Bac Giang. His daily work involves internal software programming and network administration.
According to a leader of the Information Technology Center, Quang Huy is a dynamic, responsible young staff member who always actively proposes and offers many solutions and initiatives to improve the quality of work, while effectively using the invested equipment to save costs for the unit.
Besides having many initiatives to serve the company, Huy has also actively and enthusiastically engaged in emulation movements at the grassroots level. In 2018, he was awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and was honored as the individual with outstanding achievements in the emulation movements of VNPT Bac Giang for the 2015-2020 period.
