During his over 80-year revolutionary career, Do Muoi had made great contributions to the struggle for national liberation and reunification and the building of socialism.

He held many important positions of the Party and Government, leaving major imprints in each position and contributing to the national development, especially the development of heavy industry and the industrialisation and modernisation process in the spirit of building an independent and self-reliant economy.

Specially, with a motto of “Vietnam is willing to be a friend of every country”, the leader helped open a new chapter for the country’s external relations, creating breakthroughs in its external relations and international integration.

His passing is a great loss to the Vietnamese Party, State and people, leaving a profound grief for comrades and compatriots nationwide and international friends.

On behalf of the funeral organising board and the deceased’s family, permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, head of the board, expressed thanks to mourners for attending the tribute-paying and burial services for the leader, seeing him off at his final resting place.
