(BGO) – The farmers in Van Xuyen, Van
Thach, Lac Yen 1 villages, Hoang Van commune, Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang
province) have harvested some 44 tonnes of black canarium (tram den) since this August. With
an average selling price of 130 – 140,000 VND per kg, the crop helps bring revenue
of over 6 billion VND (over 260,000 USD).
According to the leader of the communal People’s Committee, though several trees were broken after the storm in June, the productivity and selling price are higher.

Hoang Van commune develops about 1,000 black canarium trees, 300 of which are over 70 years old with stable output of more than 100 kg per tree.
The black canarium is a famous crop of Hiep Hoa district. The ripen fruits can be cooked into various dishes that are widely preferred.
To preserve the specialty, Hoang Van communal People’s Committee coordinated with Vietnam Institute of Variety Improvement and Forestry Development to grow three more ha of the crop in Van Xuyen village in 2020. After the model proves success, it will be expanded in suitable lands.
Bac Giang city increase hi-tech farming efficiency

– Implementing the Resolution No.130 issued by the Bac Giang provincial Party
Committee’s Standing Board about accelerating hi-tech application in local
farming in the period 2016 – 2020, the municipal Party Committee’s Standing
Board has built the plan and instructed to execute it to create new
breakthrough in agriculture production.
Bac Giang enjoy bumper season of late ripen longan
(BGO) – This year, Bac Giang province
enjoys a bumper longan crop with total estimated productivity of 21,400 tonnes
of fruits, up nearly 5,000 tonnes comparing to last year figure. Though the
selling price is down, the higher output helps bring high economic value to the
farmers, especially those growing late ripen longan.
Bac Giang lychee approaches demanding markets
(BGO) – As of July 6, Bac Giang province
harvested more than 161,000 tonnes of lychee. Due to the impact of Covid-19
pandemic, this year the fruit is mostly consumed in domestic market with total
quantity of over 86,000 tonnes, up about 18,000 tonnes comparing to this year.

(BGO) - Recently, the Center for Vocational Training and
Farmer Support of Bac Giang province has cooperated with a number of
enterprises and localities to build many agricultural production models and put
high quality crops and fertilizers into cultivation, bringing in practical
effects.
