The district is now home to 16 out of 21 NSR communes. In order to be recognized as an NSR district in 2020, Lang Giang is focusing on making the 5 remaining communes of Thai Dao, Xuan Huong, Duong Duc, Tan Thanh and Huong Son to be qualified with NSR standard so as to complete the target of 100 percent of the communes recognized as NSR localities.

Additionally, a high concentration has been paid to realize the criteria in the Central set of NSR criteria. Over 380 billion VND (16.3 million USD) will be mobilized to invest in NSR building in Lang Giang district for the period of 2016 – 2018.

However, the district has encountered several obstacles during execution such as the limited local budget cannot meet the investment requirement of huge capital to complete the criteria of NSR district. Moreover, 5 remaining communes are difficult localities with wide areas and low average income.

Addressing at the meeting, representatives considered the environment is the hardest index to implement; hence the district authority should increase the waste gathering sites and load all the wastes to a concentrated treatment system. Regarding the production, the local agriculture sector has yet to create a deep imprint in spite of various farm produce.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Linh affirmed that Lang Giang district must target to complete building the NSR district during urbanization within this year. To realize this, the district should establish a working group headed by a Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee to timely instruct, understand and handle the difficulties to the district.

Besides, he urged the local authority to thoroughly improve the awareness of the Party, Government and local people to consider building NSR district as the key political task of the year while asking each commune to review the whole set of criteria for implementation then prepare a detail execution plan.

With the motto of mostly mobilizing the internal source, the district will balance the expense for execution. The urban plan should be completed within the second quarter. The Department of Construction was requested to consult the provincial authority to issue the proposal to the Ministry of Construction which is in charge of instructing the planning of the urban and rural areas to complete the planning for Lang Giang district within the second quarter.

Particularly, 5 remaining communes should strive for realizing the NSR goal in October while the relevant departments and sectors will base on the function and task to expedite and guide the localities to fulfill the disqualified criteria.

Bac Giang continues to build cultural life, new rural, civilised urban areas

(BGO) – The Fatherland Front Committee’s Standing Board of northern Bac Giang province has recently coordinated with the People’s Committee and the Fatherland Front Committee of Viet Yen district to organise a conference reviewing one-year implementation of the movement “all people unite to build new-style rural and civilized urban areas,” as well as the plan on coordination between the provincial Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. 

 

Vietnam has 325 new rural communes

An additional 325 communes were recognised as new style rural areas in January - April, 2017, a rise of 3.6 percent compared to end of 2016, announced the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development (MARD).

(BGO) – This year, there are 18 communes in Bac Giang province registering to meet new-style rural area criteria, including five communes in Lang Giang district and five in Viet Yen district, and one in each remaining district and city.
