There are 148 members at the age of 100 (born in 1921) receiving gift from the President, each consisting of 5 meters of silk and 1 million VND.

The Festival Drum Club in Tho Xuong ward (Bac Giang city) performs at the local longevity wishing ceremony.

Besides, 1,823 older persons at 90 years old (born in 1931) will be gifted from the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, each including present and 750,000 VND.

The remaining groups of age will be gifted in line with the Resolution No.12/2019-NQ-HDND regulating the rate of gift to longevity older persons in the province (approved at the 7th meeting of the provincial 18th People’s Council in July 2019). 

Particularly, the older people at 70 and 75 years old are gifted 300,00 VND; the persons at 80 and 85 years old are presented 400,000 VND; the persons at 95 years old receive 700,000 VND and those over 100 years old are gifted 1 million VND.

To promote the national tradition of “Paying gratitude to the older”, the provincial Association for the Older Persons has instructed the lower units to coordinate with the local authorities to prepare the condition to hold the longevity wishing ceremony for the older persons formally and economically from now on till the Lunar New Year.

Nearly 4.6 billion VND donated to fund for the elderly

(BGO) – On December 17, the Bac Giang Association for the Elderly (BGAE) held a meeting to review the operation in 2019 when all levels of BGAE called for a total donation of nearly 4.6 billion VND (198,400 USD) to raise the fund for the older persons, hitting 20 million VND per commune on average and exceeding the set target.
