Co-organised by Hanoi municipal People's Committee and Yen Bai provincial People’s Committee, the event was expected to attract tourists to Yen Bai province.

It was also considered as a promotional event for the paragliding festival "Flying over 'pouring water' season”, which will feature the participation of many domestic and international pilots at the end of this May.

During the two-day festival, Mong ethnic people from the districts of Mu Cang Chai and Tram Tau performed a variety of special art performances for visitors.

An exhibition showcasing photographs taken of the people and landscapes of Yen Bai province was also displayed.

In addition, a replica of a rural Mong ethnic market was also set up, displaying traditional products to both local people and tourists.

Yen Bai is a northwestern province with great potential for tourism, with terraced fields system in Mu Cang Chai, Ta Xua peak and Thac Ba lake. Pristine nature is adorned with the beauty of ethnic minority culture, especially the Mong people, mainly distributed in the districts of Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau and Van Chan. 

Culinary culture, costumes, daily life, and the art of Mong people are always fascinating topics for tourists.

Mobilizing resources for ethnic minorities and mountainous ares

Traditional costumes: "Language" of ethnic minorities

(BGO) - Along with the voice, costumes are a unique traditional cultural heritage bearing the recognizable characteristics of each ethnic group. Each ethnic group has its own "language" expressed through costumes. Being a mountainous province with 21 ethnic groups living together, Bac Giang is quite rich and diverse in costumes as well as the art of decorating costumes of ethnic minorities.
