National Committee for APEC 2027 established
The National Committee for APEC 2027 is tasked with assisting the PM in considering, directing, and coordinating the performance of tasks related to the preparation for and organisation of APEC conferences and related activities in 2027.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed decisions on the establishment and working regulations of the National Committee for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2027.

Accordingly, the PM decided to establish the National Committee for APEC 2027 to assist the PM in considering, directing, and coordinating the performance of tasks related to the preparation for and organisation of APEC conferences and related activities in 2027.
The National Committee is chaired by Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang serves as Permanent Vice Chair of the National Committee, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan as Vice Chair.
Based on the situation and requirements in reality, the Chairperson of the National Committee considers and decides to adjust members who are leaders of relevant agencies and localities.
The National Committee consists of five sub-committees and the Secretariat.
In particular, the content sub-committee is co-chaired by leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the material and logistics sub-committee chaired by a leader of the Government Office, and the security and health sub-committee chaired by a leader of the Ministry of Public Security.
Meanwhile, the communications and culture sub-committee is chaired by a leader of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The protocol sub-committee is led by a senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Foreign Ministry is also in charge of the Secretariat, a permanent body assisting the National Committee.
The APEC Forum 2027, themed "Connecting, building inclusive and resilient economies", will be held in the Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province.
This significant event will underscore Vietnam's role in the region and offer an opportunity to promote the nation's image and standing on the international stage. Concurrently, it presents a chance for Phu Quoc to emerge as a global hub for socio-economic partnerships and exchanges.
