PM meets with outstanding medical frontliners in Covid-19 fight

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 18 had a meeting, both in-person and online forms, with outstanding medical workers who have been on the frontline of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the event, participating doctors and health workers shared their memories and feelings after the past historical months and affirmed their willingness to join pandemic prevention and control efforts whenever the nation and people need them.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the medical workers' phenomenal efforts have strengthened the sector’s tradition and obtained trust and acknowledgement from the Party, State and people.

Sharing their sacrifices and losses, PM Chinh stressed that the Party, Government and people highly appreciated the meaningful contributions of the medical force.

As the pandemic is forecast to remain complicated and unpredictable in the coming time, he recommended the health sector and other forces continue focusing on carrying out effectively Covid-19 prevention and control measures, particularly those to ensure the safety of frontline personnel.

The Government leader requested the Ministry of Health collaborate with localities in speeding up the vaccination campaign nationwide in a safe, scientific and effective manner; build vaccination plans for 2022 and for children; and work on establishing a Covid-19 study major to safely and flexibly adapt to and effectively control the pandemic.

He called on people, administrations at all levels, and all sectors for supporting and voluntarily implementing measures to curb the pandemic, and making further contributions to pandemic prevention and control.

At the meeting, PM Chinh presented the Prime Minister's certificates of merit to 138 individuals with outstanding achievements in fighting the fourth wave of Covid-19 infections in Vietnam.
