BAC NINH - The Vietnam Farmers’ Union has held a ceremony to honor and present the titles of “Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer” to 63 collectives and individuals, along with 32 recipients of the “Farmer’s Scientist” award for 2025. Bac Ninh Province proudly had three honorees this year, including two recognized as Outstanding Vietnamese Farmers and one as a Farmer’s Scientist.

The two award-winning farmers were Le Xuan Nam (born 1977, Ram residential group, Tu Lan ward) and Bui Xuan Que (born 1987, Huong Trien hamlet, Nhan Thang commune).

Le Ba Thanh receives the title of “Farmer’s Scientist.”

The Farmer’s Scientist title went to Le Ba Thanh (born 1967), a master’s degree holder and former deputy director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

Le Xuan Nam operates a large integrated farm spanning more than 14,400 square meters for fish farming and three commercial duck houses covering over 4,000 square meters, equipped with modern automatic feeding systems, cooling and deodorizing technologies.

Raising about 30,000 to 40,000 ducks per batch, with five production cycles per year, Nam earns profits exceeding 800 million VND per cycle, excluding income from pig and fish farming.

Beyond his own success, he supports local farmers with breeding stock, funding, and farming techniques worth about 80 million VND annually.

Bui Xuan Que, chairman and general director of the Xuan Mai Agricultural Services Cooperative, specializes in safe vegetable and fruit production over 14 hectares, including 5,250 square meters of greenhouses and net houses, with a total investment exceeding 8 billion VND.

The cooperative generates annual revenues of 6.5 billion VND and profits of 1.2 billion VND, providing stable jobs for 25 workers.

Le Ba Thanh was honored as a Farmer’s Scientist for his initiative titled “Building a model for applying advanced grafting techniques to restructure lychee varieties in the former Bac Giang Province.”

His work has been successfully implemented in practice, delivering measurable results for local agricultural development.

The annual recognition event celebrates exemplary farmers who not only achieve personal and family prosperity but also create jobs, inspire others through their innovation and leadership, and contribute significantly to agricultural growth, rural development, and the strengthening of Vietnam’s farming community.
