Addressing the meeting, the Vice President praised the significant contributions made by the businesses and business people to gratitude and social charity work.

Private firms play a crucial role in the country’s economic development, she said, affirming that the Party, State and Government will always stand by enterprises.

Thinh spoke highly of the operational outcomes of the VINASME over the past years, suggesting that the association holds frequent meetings and dialogues with businesses in order to hear their opinions, thus becoming a connecting bridge between businesses and the Party, State and Government.

She encouraged businesses and entrepreneurs to overcome any challenges, develop trademarks, seek outputs and renovate technologies, contributing to strengthening competitiveness for Vietnamese goods, whilst actively engaging in gratitude movements and social charity work.

For his part, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the VINASME, To Hoai Nam, affirmed that. thanks to the support and favourable conditions offered by the Party, State and Government, Vietnamese SMEs have proactively overcome their difficulties to maintain production and contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.

The association has made active contributions to charity work and social welfare activities, as well as fulfilling its social responsibilities, through mobilising funds in order to build houses of gratitude and care for families of wounded and fallen soldiers, taking over the caretaking of Vietnamese heroic mothers, and organising delegations to visit soldiers in Truong Sa islands and the martyrs’ cemeteries in Quang Tri province, Nam said.

He expressed his wish that the Party, State and Government would continue supporting the VINASME’s development so that the association will be able to further contribute to the country’s socio-economic development, and fully tap into the potential and strength of Vietnamese businesses.

SMEs are accounted for 98% of the total number of enterprises in Vietnam at present, contributing to over 30% of the State budget and providing jobs for approximately 50% of labourers nationwide.
