Viet Nam women's team top Southeast Asia in FIFA rankings
The Viet Nam national women’s football team have maintained their 37th place in the world and retained their No. 1 position in Southeast Asia, according to the latest FIFA women’s rankings.
In this ranking update, Viet Nam gained an additional 2.09 points following three consecutive victories over the Maldives, the UAE and Guam in the qualifiers for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which also serves as the preliminary round of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Philippines, ranked 39th in the world, remained second in Southeast Asia, while Thailand dropped seven places to 53rd.
At the continental level, Viet Nam ranked sixth in Asia, behind Japan (8th globally), the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (10th), Australia (15th), China (16th) and the Republic of Korea (21st).
The maintained ranking reflects the team’s consistent performance in recent times and serves as an important springboard towards their target of winning the 2025 AFF Women’s Championship, currently taking place in Viet Nam's Hai Phong city and Phu Tho province.
