Vietnam-Indonesia Friendship Parliamentary Group visits Bac Giang province

(BGO) - On June 14, the Vietnam-Indonesia Friendship Parliamentary Group headed by Tran Ngoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA)’s National Defence and Security Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam-Indonesia Friendship Parliamentary Group, and Ibnu Hadi, Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, paid a working visit to Bac Giang province.
At the working session, Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong, who is also head of the province’s NA deputy delegation, welcomed the guests and emphasised the good traditional relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam in general and Bac Giang province in particular.

Then, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lai Thanh Son briefed the guests on the socio-economic development, potential and strengths of Bac Giang province. 

He affirmed that in recent years, the province has always seen a high economic growth. It has many policies to attract investment from domestic and foreign enterprises, focusing on reforming administrative procedures and improving the investment and business environment.

The provincial officials stressed that Bac Giang province always creates favorable conditions for Indonesian investors. They expected that Khanh and Ibnu Hadi will serve as bridges to bring reputable corporations and businesses of Indonesia to the province, which is calling investment in such fields as high, advanced and environmentally friendly technologies, clean energy, renewable energy, development of modern technical infrastructure, and Industry 4.0-based new industries.

The guests were urged to regularly cooperate with the province in disseminating and educating Indonesia's laws and policies regarding foreign workers, as well as studying and working skills for the province’s students and labourers who wish to learn and work in Indonesia. They should promote trade between the two sides, with Bac Giang province wanting to export some of its typical products to the Indonesian market such as lychee, Chu noodles, hill chicken and tea.

For his part, Ibnu Hadi thanked the leaders of the provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and NA deputy delegation for receiving his delegation.

He affirmed that the friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia has been built and developed over the years. As the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, he will introduce and provide orientations for businesses and organizations of Indonesia to choose Bac Giang as a destination to invest in the spirit of mutual development.

At the same time, he said he will introduce some Indonesian scholarship programmes for the province’s excellent cadres, civil servants and students; as well as promoting the exchange of delegations and coordinating in organising cultural and art events to promote tourism between Indonesia and Vietnam, especially Bac Giang province.
