Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong emphasized that after more than 10 years of implementing the National Target Programme on new-style rural area building, the face of the countryside has changed positively, with essential infrastructure improved. The sustainable agricultural production has brought in high economic efficiency and income. The material and spiritual life of the people has improved markedly.

Under the authorization of the State President, Chairman of the provincial People’s Commitee Le Anh Duong awards the second-class Labour Order to the Party Organisation, authorities and people of Yen Dung district.

Now the province has 138 out of 184 communes meeting new-style rural area standards, 23 communes satisfying advanced new-style rural area criteria, and 146 recognised as model new-style rural areas.

After Viet Yen, Tan Yen and Lang Giang, in 2021, Yen Dung district was recognized by the Prime Minister as a new-style rural area, and Bac Giang city was recognized for completing the task of building new-style rural areas. On December 24, the Central Appraisal Council held a ceremomy to appraise and approve the application for recognition of Hiep Hoa district as a new-style rural area.

With 6 district-level units meeting the standards and completing the task of building new-style rural areas, Bac Giang continues to maintain its position as the top province in the northern midland and mountainous region in terms of new countryside construction. In the overall results of the province, there are important contributions of the Party Organisation, authorities and people of Yen Dung district.

In recent years, Yen Dung has made rapid and comprehensive development in all fields. The economic structure changed positively, with the value of industrial production - handicrafts, trade - services ranking second in the province. Agriculture has developed intensively, with the application of high technology. Yen Dung district is also known for many good, creative and effective ways.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong congratulated and praised the encouraging achievements and results achieved by the Party Organisation, authorities and people of Yen Dung district. He noted that building new-style rural areas is not a target but a journey, a regular and long-term task, requiring dynamism, flexiblity and practicality.

Yen Dung is identified as one of four key localities in the province's socio-economic development master plan. To meet the requirements, the district needs to uphold its achievements; continue to do well communication work and raise awareness of cadres, Party members and people; immediately develop a plan and define a clear roadmap to improve the quality of the criteria after obtaining the status in the direction of ensuring quality and sustainability.

On this occasion, under the authorization of the State President, Chairman Duong awarded the second class Labor Order to the Party Organisation, authorities and people of Yen Dung district; while Standing Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Council Lam Thi Huong Thanh, authorized by the Prime Minister, awarded the Certificate recognising the district as meeting new-style rural area standards.

At the ceremony, 10 collectives, nine individuals and one outstanding household were awarded the certificates of merit by the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee.
