In addition to investing in technology and production machinery, Tin Nhiem Clean Food Cooperative in Dong Son commune has actively prepared clean raw materials with the process of raising thousands of pigs at two farms in the city’s Dong Son commune and Lang Giang district. As a result, the cooperative's five products now meet 3-star OCOP standards, including lean pork paste, pork, sausage, paste made of hog ears and mushrooms and Chinese sausage.
After reaching three stars, the unit continues to invest in improving its facilities, techniques and raw materials to upgrade its products and expand the domestic market through the supermarket system. The cooperative’s products are now present at a number of supermarkets and convenience stores in the province and neighboring localities.
Similarly, after a period of improving designs and product quality, five products of the Da Mai Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative have met 3-star standards. They include fresh vermicelli, ‘che lam’ (a kind of cake made of sticky rice, ginger, honey and peanut), peanut candy, dry vermicelli made from brown rice and dry vermicelli with moringa. These products are known by consumers in many places, and are sold in supermarkets and trade centers in Bac Giang and other localities such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Da Nang. Some enterprises are coordinating to carry out procedures for export.
Efforts made to earn more stars
Every year, the city People's Committee develops and issues documents guiding and directing the implementation of the program; and devises regulations on evaluation and classification of OCOP products.

Each year, the city People's Committee spends from 500 million-1 billion VND (21,290-42,580 USD) from the industrial promotion fund to support units in purchasing new equipment and machinery, upgrading production lines, exercising intellectual property rights and traceability.
It also focuses on popularizing the program and activities to promote trade of OCOP products.
In the coming time, the city will continue to apply mechanisms and policies of the Government and the province on support for production and tourism development, science and technology, agricultural extension, industrial encouragement and trade promotion, while studying special mechanisms to support program participants.
It will renovate the production organization model, in which, enterprises and cooperatives play a pivotal role in directing production, applying science and technology, building and managing brands, and selling products. Other tasks are promoting digital transformation in activities such as applying QR codes for product traceability; joining websites and e-commerce platforms and applying information technology to sell and buy goods; exercising intellectual property protection for OCOP products.
The city will maximize the proactiveness and creativity of the participants in the development of OCOP products; focus on perfecting and upgrading products with local strengths and developing new products.
It also plans to increase investment in technology, innovation, application of scientific and technical advances in processing and preserving OCOP products; promote trade, organize fairs and exhibitions, and set up points and centers to introduce and sell OCOP products.
