It was titled “80 days and nights of peak efforts for land clearance, 256 days and nights for completion of the projects related to Gia Binh international airport and 468 days and nights for completing the road connecting Gia Binh airport and Hanoi capital, the section crossing the province.”

The launching ceremony was attended by provincial leaders, contractors, supervisors and workers.

At the event, the representative of the provincial Steering Committee for implementation of the provincial plan No 54 launched the emulation campaign, which is scheduled from September 4, 2025 to December 2026.

The emulation campaign is targeted at completing the land clearance for the resettlement area and its corresponding land area by October 15, 2025; completing land clearance for all agricultural land related to the projects and associated items by November 20, 2025; completing land clearance for all cemetery areas by October 30; constructing the resettlement area for locals to build houses by January 30, 2026 and building schools, medical stations as well as technical and social infrastructure works within six months from the date of completion of site clearance.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Gau stressed Gia Binh international airport is a key national project.

As it is a grand project, the provincial Steering Committee needs to acknowledge both advantages and challenges, especially time pressure.

The Party and State leaders are determined to complete and start running Gia Binh international airport in 2026, to timely welcome heads of state and international visitors to Vietnam on the occasion of the APEC Summit in early 2027.

The provincial leaders witness representatives of the provincial People’s Committee and departments signing commitment to completing the project approvals and selecting investors for implementation of related projects.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, he highly appreciated the urgent working spirit, sense of responsibility and joint efforts by all-level governments, sectors and people to gain remarkable results in implementing the project so far. Besides, he highlighted the duties of each locality and unit in coming time.

As a part of the launching ceremony, representatives of the provincial People’s Committee and relevant departments signed commitments to completing the project approvals and selecting investors for implementation of the projects related to Gia Binh international airport.

Meanwhile, leaders of related units, communes and wards signed commitments on land clearance and project construction.

Special mechanisms, policies designed for Gia Binh airport investment

The Ministry of Public Security will select the investor for Gia Binh International Airport in Bac Ninh province through a special bidding process prior to National Assembly approval.
