Bac Ninh locally meets demand for high-quality human resources
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh province, which aims to become a centrally governed city before 2030 and a northern industrial hub, is stepping up efforts to attract leading universities as it seeks to build a highly skilled local workforce. The focus is on semiconductors, electronics, artificial intelligence, supporting industries, logistics, healthcare and finance.
Nguyen Huu Binh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training, said Bac Ninh hoped to host more universities while many institutions were also eager to establish a presence in the province.

“This two-way interaction will drive strong development for both the universities and the locality in enrollment, technology transfer and practical training,” he said.
With convenient transport links and a growing economy, Bac Ninh has become a destination for universities.
In the past, limited land had restricted expansion, but after recent administrative changes the province now has more space to host university campuses and build “university villages.”
Authorities say priority will be given to prestigious institutions that can shape socio-economic growth, including the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Foreign Trade University, medical and pharmaceutical schools, and aviation-related universities.
Preparing for its new status, the provincial People’s Council had earlier approved a resolution to support teaching and training in the semiconductor industry, with the aim of turning Bac Ninh into a high-tech manufacturing hub. That policy is now being implemented to meet new demands.
Alongside universities, local colleges are also adapting to the province’s strategy by focusing on high-tech sectors. Ly Thai To College in Tu Son town, founded in August 2019, has already made semiconductor workforce training a priority.
Nguyen Tien Dong, the college’s rector, said it had recently partnered with Japan’s CAMCOM Group to develop semiconductor training programmes. The firm pledged to help design digital learning materials, set up labs, and bring in international experts for training.
As Bac Ninh advances toward becoming a centrally governed city and industrial capital by 2030, attracting prestigious universities is expected not only to create new spaces for urban and service development but also to ensure a steady supply of skilled human resources for the province’s long-term socio-economic goals.
Major roads opened, in its journey to become a centrally governed city and the industrial hub of northern Vietnam by 2030, Bac Ninh aims to attract prestigious universities to invest locally.
This move not only creates new spaces for urban growth and services to improve people’s living standards but also ensures the supply of high-quality human resources on the spot, serving the province’s long-term socio-economic development goals.
