All the five members of Vietnam’s national team earned medals at the 2025 International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), comprising one gold and four silver medals, placing the country among the top 10 performers, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on July 24.

Nguyen The Quan, a 12th grader from the Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Nghe An province, won the gold medal.

The four silver medalists are 12th-grade students, including Ly Ba Khoi and Truong Duc Dung from the High School for the Gifted under the University of Science of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Cong Vinh from the Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted in Bac Ninh province, and Tran Le Thien Nhan from the Quoc Hoc-Hue High School for the Gifted in Hue city.

In 2025, Nguyen Cong Vinh became the third student from Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted to win a medal at international olympiads. Earlier this year, Ngo Quang Minh won a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad while Truong Thanh Xuan secured a bronze at the International Mathematics Olympiad.
