Bac Ninh Party Secretary meets Samsung Vietnam General Director

Updated: 21:16, 17/10/2025

BAC NINH – On October 17, Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee (PPC) chaired a working session with a delegation from Samsung Vietnam led by General Director Na Ki Hong.

Na Ki Hong expressed his sympathy toward the Party, authorities and people of Bac Ninh for the heavy losses caused by recent flooding. He praised the province’s swift efforts in recovery and in restoring production and livelihoods after the disaster.

An overview of the meeting.

Despite severe impacts from the floods, Samsung’s factories in Bac Ninh and other enterprises in local industrial zones have maintained stable operations.

Na Ki Hong said this reflects the province’s strategic planning vision and strong risk management capacity, which reinforce investor confidence.

The General Director highlighted Bac Ninh’s special role in Samsung’s development strategy.

The provincial Party Chief Nguyen Hong Thai speaks at the working session.

Over 17 years since Samsung made its first major investment in Vietnam with the mobile phone factory in Yen Phong Industrial Park, Bac Ninh has become the group’s largest global production hub.

The province has helped elevate Vietnam beyond a manufacturing base to a strategic global center for research and development. These achievements, he noted, stem from the Vietnamese government’s support and the cooperation of Bac Ninh’s Party, authorities and people.

Samsung Vietnam General Director Na Ki Hong presents 2.5 billion VND in aid to flood hit residents in Bac Ninh province.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, Samsung Vietnam donated 2.5 billion VND (109.618 USD) to help Bac Ninh residents recover from flood damage.

The amount is part of a 10 billion VND fund Samsung has pledged to assist flood-affected provinces in Vietnam. Additionally, employees at Samsung’s factories in Bac Ninh contributed another 500 million VND.

PPC Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai thanked Samsung for its timely support and affirmed that the aid would be used effectively to help residents restore production and stabilize their lives.

He stressed that during 30 years of Samsung’s operations in Vietnam, including 17 years in Bac Ninh, the company has made significant contributions not only to the local economy and foreign relations but also in fulfilling its social responsibilities.

The provincial Party Chief briefed the delegation on Bac Ninh’s socio-economic results. In the first nine months of 2025, the province’s GRDP grew by 10.12%; its Provincial Competitiveness Index remained among the country’s top five; state budget revenue exceeded 57 trillion VND, meeting the annual target; and export turnover reached 65.7 billion USD, ranking second nationwide.

Bac Ninh is now focusing on high-tech investment, smart urban development, and modern industrial infrastructure. The provincial leader proposed that Samsung consider building a symbolic landmark building in Bac Ninh and establishing a research and technology transfer unit within the province’s Innovation Center.

These initiatives, he said, would enhance local innovation, localization rates, high-quality workforce development, digital transformation, and sustainable growth.

The provincial leader reaffirmed Bac Ninh’s commitment to accompany and facilitate Samsung’s continued investment and sustainable expansion, contributing to local growth and social welfare.
