Permanent Deputy PM attends investment promotion conference in Bac Ninh
BAC NINH – Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on August 15 attended an investment promotion conference in Bac Ninh province where the provincial authorities granted investment approvals, awarded registration certificates and launched a social housing project for workers.
The event, held at the Bac Ninh Provincial Convention Center, gathered senior officials from both central and provincial levels, including Politburo member Nguyen Hoa Binh; Nguyen Van Gau, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Huong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Viet Oanh, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; and Vuong Quoc Tuan, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, alongside heads of provincial departments and representatives of domestic and foreign investors operating in the province.

Delegates were briefed on Bac Ninh’s economic strengths and growth trajectory. Following administrative reforms and industrial expansion, the province has emerged as a major growth hub in northern Vietnam and ranks among the country’s most developed localities.
Its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first half of 2025 was estimated to rise 10.47%, with total GRDP surpassing 9.5 billion USD. Industry–construction and services account for nearly 90% of the economic structure.

Bac Ninh’s export turnover consistently ranks among the highest nationwide, contributing significantly to Vietnam’s overall trade performance. In July alone, the province topped the nation for the first time in export value, bringing the seven-month total to more than 48 billion USD.
With such advantages, Bac Ninh is now Vietnam’s second-largest destination for foreign direct investment, attracting more than 2,800 projects with total pledged capital of around 45 billion USD. Major global corporations such as Samsung, Foxconn, Amkor, Hana Micron, Canon and Goertek have large-scale operations in the province.

The province has planned 50 concentrated industrial parks covering over 15,000 hectares, with modern and synchronized infrastructure. Its transport system is diverse and well-developed, including expressways, national highways, waterways, rail lines and the Hanoi Capital Region’s Ring Road 4, ensuring easy access to the capital and other key economic zones. Kep Station, an international rail terminal, provides direct connections to China.
A landmark project now under way is Gia Binh International Airport, covering nearly 2,000 hectares. When completed, it will be Vietnam’s second-largest airport by area and capacity.

The airport complex will be linked by four major transport routes, including a large-scale urban rail line, aimed at reducing travel time, improving freight efficiency and opening new urban development spaces.
Bac Ninh also boasts a large, skilled workforce and specialized vocational training institutions to meet high-tech industry needs. The province has policies to improve workforce quality and aims to become a national center for semiconductor labor training.
Provincial leaders stressed that Bac Ninh is building a transparent, dynamic and investor-friendly business environment, under the motto “the growth of investors is the growth of the province.”
Authorities pledge to support investors through streamlined administrative procedures, land clearance, workforce recruitment and prompt resolution of difficulties.
Key activities at the conference included granting investment policy decisions, investor selection decisions, investment registration certificates and land lease agreements; breaking ground on the social housing project for workers in Dinh Tram Industrial Park; and discussing Bac Ninh’s investment climate.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, along with central and local leaders, emphasized the province’s determination to improve its investment environment, attract resources and drive socio-economic growth.
The conference also served as a platform for businesses and investors to share ideas, propose initiatives and contribute to making Bac Ninh a sustainable and attractive destination in Vietnam’s development strategy.
