Bac Ninh promotes efficiency of onsite “labour export”

BAC NINH- With robust industrial development attracting a large number of foreign investors, Bac Ninh province has effectively implemented on-site labour export, bringing high income for local and neighbouring people. Besides, on-site labour export has made positive changes to quality of human resources.

On-site labour export is a form of recruitment for foreign companies operating in the country of the workers. Thanks to on- site labour export, Vietnamese workers can work in international environment right in their homeland while avoiding limitations of direct labour export such as labour broker fees, traveling costs and accommodation fees in foreign countries as well as climate and cultural differences.

Bac Ninh province is home to nearly 2,300 FDI companies. The workforce in these companies takes the majority among more than 550,000 workers working in the province’s industrial parks.

Many top technology groups including Samsung Display, Amkor Technology, Goertek, Samsung Electronics create jobs for a large number of unskilled labourers in assembly sector. Besides, they employ several engineers, experts and chain managers.

After graduating from the Electrical and Electronics Faculty at the Vietnam-Korea College of Technology, Vu Quang Huy (born in 1998, from Bac Giang ward) found a job suitable for his field of study at Canon Company Limited in Que Vo industrial park.

In line with his hard work and efforts to enrich his experience, Huy also learned foreign languages to communicate effectively with foreign colleagues and managers.

Currently, he works as a technician at Luxshare ICT Company Limited in Van Trung industrial park, earning a monthly salary of 30 million VND (1,136 USD).

FDI companies have provided opportunities for a number of labourers in Bac Ninh and neighbouring localities to work in international environment with average income higher than the national average, which is estimated at 8 million VND (303 USD) per month. In such working environment, workers can learn international working experience.

In addition, workers have paid more attention to improving their technical skills and foreign language proficiency. As a result, the number of working-age people in the province receiving vocational training has steadily recently increased. The rate of trained workers across the province has reached 80 percent including 35.9 percent with degrees and certificates.

In line with industrial development and investment attraction, the province has always paid attention to human resource training.

Along with the general policies of the state, the province has built its own policies to foster high-quality and semiconductor human resource training while constructing the network of vocational training institutions to improve the quality of workers.

Besides, it encourages businesses to involve in the collaborative training programs for technical human resource development, especially in the fields of electronics, semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).

In addition, the province has a system of modern job service centers functioning in information dissemination and analysing labour market to provide an information system to share the needs of FDI enterprises for labourers to set their training targets and easily seek suitable jobs.
