Bac Ninh provincial Party Chief meets Samsung executives to deepen investment ties
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai led a provincial delegation to visit and work with Samsung Electronics during a business trip to South Korea, reaffirming the northern Vietnamese province’s commitment to strengthening long-term cooperation with the global technology group.
At a meeting held at Samsung’s headquarters in Suwon, Gyeonggi province, Samsung executives, including Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer Park Soon Cheol, outlined the company’s global strategy and future investment plans, emphasizing that Vietnam remains a key manufacturing hub in its global value chain.

Samsung has built a large-scale electronics production complex in Bac Ninh, home to several major projects.
Samsung Electronics Vietnam operates with total registered capital of about 2.5 billion USD, focusing on manufacturing, assembling high-tech electronic products and research and development.

Samsung Display Vietnam, with investment of roughly 8.3 billion USD, produces display panels for global markets, while Samsung SDI Vietnam, with 160 million USD in capital, specializes in batteries and electronic components.
The group’s investments have created tens of thousands of jobs and contributed to the development of Vietnam’s supporting industries, helping local firms integrate more deeply into global supply chains.

Park said Samsung considers Vietnam, particularly Bac Ninh, a strategic investment destination and plans to continue expanding production, enhancing technological capabilities and strengthening cooperation with local partners.
The Bac Ninh provincial Party Chief said the visit was significant for consolidating and advancing the partnership between Bac Ninh and Samsung.

He highlighted the province’s economic potential following administrative expansion, noting a population of more than 3.6 million and its role as a dynamic growth pole in northern Vietnam.
Bac Ninh benefits from a strategic location within key economic corridors, with strong connectivity to Hanoi, Noi Bai International Airport and Hai Phong seaport.
The province is also developing the Gia Binh International Airport to international standards, aiming to further improve transport infrastructure and investment attractiveness.

The province has maintained one of the country’s highest growth rates, posting 10.27% in 2025 and 9.82% in the first quarter of 2026.
Total import-export turnover reached 48.1 billion USD, while accumulated foreign direct investment stands at around 49.4 billion USD, ranking second nationwide.
South Korea is the leading investor in Bac Ninh, with 1,148 projects worth a combined 18.8 billion USD. Korean firms, including Samsung, have played a crucial role in the province’s socio-economic development.
The provincial leader reiterated Bac Ninh’s commitment to supporting businesses by maintaining a favorable investment environment, pledging that the province views corporate challenges as its own and business success as local success.

He called on Samsung to expand investment, accelerate technology transfer and support Vietnamese companies in joining global supply chains.
Both sides discussed future cooperation and agreed to enhance connectivity, expand investment and promote high-tech industrial development.
The visit concluded with a tour of Samsung facilities and the Samsung Innovation Museum, as well as an exchange of commemorative gifts.
