The province currently has 217 major power-consuming enterprises identified in the first phase of its 2026 rooftop solar development plan. These businesses are being encouraged to install solar systems for self-generation and self-consumption, contributing to energy security.

A rooftop solar system at Yonz Technology Vietnam Investment Co., Ltd. in Yen Lu Industrial Park has recently been completed and put into operation.

By the end of March 2026, 54 companies had registered to invest in rooftop solar, with total planned capacity of 187.95 MW. Of these, 46 firms have completed installation and begun operations, with combined capacity reaching 150.4 MW, indicating rapid and effective implementation.

The Department of Industry and Trade will continue reviewing and urging the remaining enterprises that have yet to register, while coordinating with the Industrial Parks Management Board and Bac Ninh Power Company to address procedural and technical challenges related to grid connection.

The province aims to reach a minimum installed capacity of 515 MW by December 31, 2026, in line with its development targets, laying the groundwork for further expansion of rooftop solar in the coming years.
