Bac Ninh promotes technology transfer, improves farmers’ access to concessional loans

Updated: 14:46, 23/04/2026

BAC NINH - Authorities in the Northern province of Bac Ninh are stepping up efforts to transfer technology and expand farmers’ access to preferential financing, as part of a broader push to modernise agriculture and raise rural incomes.

Le Xuan Loi, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC), on April 22 visited several model farms in Tan An ward developed under the guidance of the provincial Farmers’ Union.

At a 6.4-hectare circular farming model run by Hoang Dinh Que, the delegation observed large-scale livestock production integrated with crop cultivation.

The farm raises between 4,000 and 7,000 lean pigs annually, along with 17,000 ducks, and grows melons. Livestock waste is recycled to raise earthworms, producing tens of tonnes each year.

The model also applies Internet of Things (IoT) technology in pig farming, helping automate monitoring and management. Annual income from the farm exceeds 10 billion VND dong (380,000 USD).

The delegation also inspected a 4,000-square-metre greenhouse model operated by Nguyen Thi Huyen, which uses IoT technology in crop production.

The farm specialises in Korean melons, cucumbers and other varieties, using drip irrigation with pressure compensation, automated fertiliser systems and sensor-controlled ventilation managed via computers and mobile devices. The model generates an estimated annual profit of around 600 million VND.

In another visit, officials reviewed a French pigeon breeding model run by Vu Van Nghien, covering 6,000 square metres and raising 15,000 breeding birds. The farm produces nine breeding cycles per year and yields profits of 1–1.2 billion VND annually after costs.

Farm owners called for continued access to concessional loans to expand production, as well as further training and technology transfer. They also urged authorities to improve drainage systems to prevent flooding of greenhouses during the rainy season.

The provincial leader said the province valued the role of the Farmers’ Union in helping farmers adopt advanced production models and connect with businesses and scientists to apply new technologies and secure product outlets.

He added that Bac Ninh would conduct reviews of effective agricultural production models to draw lessons and design more practical support policies in the coming period.
