Ha Noi to distribute cakes and water to people watching parade marking National Day

Updated: 09:35, 22/08/2025

Ha Noi will prioritise front-row positions for war veterans, the elderly, women, and children to watch the parade; and will provide drinking water, rations, and instant cakes to serve citizens and tourists attending the activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day in the capital.

On August 20, 2025, Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh issued Official Dispatch No. 4686/UBND-KGVX on ensuring conditions to serve the people and visitors attending the commemorative activities for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, including the parade and procession.

A family dressed in outfits featuring the national flag waited along Hung Vuong Street.

On this occasion, rehearsal, pre-review, and general rehearsal activities will take place on August 21, 24, 27, and 30, 2025, before the official Commemoration, Parade, and Procession, which will be held at 6:30 a.m. on September 2, 2025, in the capital.

Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh assigned the Vice Chairmen of the People’s Committee to decisively direct the implementation of assigned tasks, proactively develop response plans for all situations, and avoid passivity and surprise.

Directors and heads of departments and agencies that act as standing bodies of the Subcommittees bear overall responsibility before the Organising Committee of the Commemoration, Parade, and Procession for implementing the assigned tasks; they must actively coordinate closely with other Subcommittees during the organisation process to ensure timely support for rehearsals, pre-reviews, general rehearsals, and the Commemoration.

The Chairman of the People’s Committee assigned Vice Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan, Head of the Subcommittee on Security and Transport, to direct the development of plans for traffic division and regulation, ensuring security and order for participation in the celebrations on the roads and streets along the parade route.

Vice Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen, Head of the Subcommittee on Logistics and Supplies, was tasked with directing the implementation of plans to ensure the provision of essential supplies (including drinking water, rations, and instant cakes), shelters from rain and sun, and free bus routes for citizens and visitors coming from other localities to Ha Noi to attend the activities. This demonstrates the friendliness and hospitality of the capital, the City for Peace.

The People’s Committee of the city instructed ward and commune People’s Committees to mobilise households in their areas to promote traditional cultural values, demonstrating Hanoians as elegant, civilised, friendly, and hospitable, supporting and assisting citizens and tourists from other localities coming to Ha Noi to participate in these meaningful activities.

Vice Chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee Truong Viet Dung, Head of the Subcommittee on Protocol, directed the Office of the People’s Committee of the city to take the lead, in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Tourism, and relevant units, in developing and implementing protocol plans, organising the reception of delegates attending the commemorative activities, pre-reviews, general rehearsals, and the Commemoration, Parade, and Procession, ensuring solemnity and thoughtfulness.
