The index of industrial production (IIP) in April increased by 24.1% over the same period in 2020 amid the rebound of business activities and free trade agreements taking effect.
According to the General Statistics Office, the IIP in the four-month period in 2021 also rose by 10% over that of the same period last year.
Several key industrial sectors saw high IIP in the January-April period including metal production (up 37.9%), motor vehicle production (up 32.9%), the production of beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs (up17.6%), and others.

Meanwhile, some sectors posted declining IIP such as production of coke coal and refined petroleum products (down 2%); drainage and wastewater treatment (down 2.2%); exploitation of hard coal and lignite (down 2.8%); and crude oil and natural gas exploitation (down 8.9%).
The number of employees working at industrial businesses as of April 1, 2021, rose by 1.5% over the previous month and by 1.8% over the same period last year.
To deal with inventory and promote domestic production, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has asked localities to continue to reform administrative procedures, simplify specialised inspection of goods, improve logistics services, and increase linkages between domestic and FDI enterprises.
Bac Giang supports to apply machine in production and storage of farm products
(BGO) – The Center of Industrial
Encouragement and Trade Promotion (Department of Industry and Trade) in Bac
Giang province has supported Hang Anh Cooperative in Huong Vi commune and
business household Nguyen Thi Thuy in Phon Xuong town (Yen The district) to
apply machine and equipment in producing and preserving herbal tea and farm
products.

(BGO) - In the
first quarter of 2021, as the Covid-19 pandemic calmed down, the export
turnover of the textile and garment industry was still modest but showed signs
of recovery. This is a positive signal that contributes to boosting export
activities in Bac Giang province.
Lychee origin traceability requires good implementation from production stage
(BGO) – The competent
agencies and districts in Bac Giang province have focused on instructing and supervising
the lychee orchard owners to strictly follow the caring procedure, ensure the
conditions to stamp the product for origin traceability as regulation toward a
smooth consumption and satisfaction of export standard, especially for Japanese
market.
