Updated: 17:33, 01/08/2025

Its natural advantages have made Mui Ne a magnet for enthusiasts of kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP). These activities not only diversify the local tourism offerings but also contribute to the area’s long-term development strategy focused on sustainability.

Boasting year-round sunshine, steady winds, and warm seas, Mui Ne in Lam Dong province is fast becoming a key destination for beach resorts and marine sports tourism in Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.

Mui Ne has emerged as Vietnam’s premier marine sports destination.

The destination has drawn international attention, with National Geographic Traveller recently naming Mui Ne among Southeast Asia’s top spots for water sports.

The magazine highlighted its consistent dry climate, minimal storm activity, and favourable geography, making it ideal for water-based recreation nearly all year round.

Mui Ne has hosted several international marine sports events, including the PWA World Cup Windsurfing Tourand the annual Mui Ne Fun Cup. Experts praise the area for its excellent wind and wave conditions, considering it one of the best locations in Asia for water sports.

The destination continues to leave a strong impression on visitors. Adam Fulrord from Canada, a frequent visitor over the past eight years, said Mui Ne’s ideal sporting weather keeps him coming back.

Meanwhile, Lexandra from Germany noted the area’s safety, professionalism, and charm, calling it one of the top recommendations for marine sports in Asia.

Mui Ne offers visitors a blend of natural beauty and cultural charm beyond just sports. From white-sand beaches and stunning dunes to traditional fishing villages, there's much to explore.

Currently, over 380 tourism establishments operate in the area, many of which are situated along the coast, seamlessly combining local hospitality with modern amenities.

The recent administrative expansion of Mui Ne, including the addition of Ham Tien ward and Thien Nghiep commune, has increased its development potential. Local authorities aim to transform it into Vietnam’s “resort capital” and an international marine tourism hub.

In the time ahead, Mui Ne will continue to prioritise green tourism and marine ecosystem protection. Authorities are also focused on diversifying offerings, developing unique and culturally rich tourism products, and hosting more international events to enhance the destination’s global profile.
