At the meeting, all 99 deputies present voted in favour of electing Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, as Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 term.

Speaking after his election, Son expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, the provincial Party Standing Committee and Executive Committee, as well as the unanimous support of the People’s Council deputies.

He said Bac Ninh, a province known for its rich cultural heritage, strong scholarly tradition and thousands of years of history, is entering a new phase marked by both opportunities and challenges.

As a key growth driver of the Hanoi metropolitan area and the northern economic region, the province requires its officials and civil servants, including himself, to make greater efforts, continue learning and training, and overcome obstacles to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

BAC NINH – Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defence, was appointed by the Politburo to join Bac Ninh province’s Party Committee and its Standing Board, serving as Secretary of the committee for the 2025-2030 term. He was also appointed to the Party Committee of Military Region 1.
