Vietnam sent 7 delegations attending international and regional Olympiads in 2025 with total 37 participants. Vietnamese delegations bagged total 13 gold medals, 16 silver and 8 bronze medals, up 1 gold and 1 silver medal compared to 2024.

3 students from Bac Ninh High School for Gifted Students attended international competitions and won prizes, particularly Ngo Quang Minh bagging a gold medal at international Chemistry Olympiad who gained the highest score among Vietnamese team and ranked 7th out of 354 contestants worldwide, Nguyen Cong Vinh winning a silver medal at international Physics Olympiad and Truong Thanh Xuan with a bronze medal at international Mathematics Olympiad.

Among the 3 students from Bac Ninh province, Truong Thanh Xuan, currently a grade 12 student of mathematic class, is a promising candidate for the national exam for excellent students in mathematics in the 2025–2026 academic year and the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2026.

At the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on behalf of the State President presented 7 second-class and 12 third-class labour orders to outstanding students.

Besides, the leader of the Ministry of Education and Training gave Prime Minister’s certificate of merit to 5 students.

3 students from Bac Ninh High School for Gifted Students were also commended and awarded on this occasion.

Notably, Ngo Quang Minh (now a student of Hanoi University of Science) was awarded a second-class labour order, Nguyen Cong Vinh (now a student of Hanoi University of Polytechniques) received a third-class labour order and Truong Thanh Xuan (currently a grade 12 student of Bac Ninh High School for Gifted Students) was awarded the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit.

BAC NINH – Truong Thanh Xuan, an 11th grader at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, has won a bronze medal at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Australia from July 10 to 20.
