Vietnamese students win four medals at 2025 International Biology Olympiad
The national team of Viet Nam comprising four students competing in the 2025 International Biology Olympiad (IBO) has won one Gold Medal, two Silver Medals, and one Bronze Medal.
On the evening of July 26, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the official results of the Vietnamese national team attending the 2025 International Biology Olympiad (IBO), which was held in the Republic of the Philippines.

All four Vietnamese students participating in the competition won awards. The Gold Medal was awarded to Nguyen Luong Thai Duy, an 11th-grade student from Ha Noi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Ha Noi, who ranked 7th out of a total of 298 contestants.
The two Silver Medals went to: Nguyen Huu Thanh, a 12th-grade student from Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong City; and Bui Hoang Dai Duong, a 12th-grade student from Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Hue City.
The Bronze Medal was awarded to Le Hoang Kieu Anh, a 12th-grade student from Ha Noi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Ha Noi.
With this achievement, the Vietnamese team was among the top 10 countries with the highest overall team scores, continuing the impressive streak of results across all international Olympiads in which Viet Nam has participated in 2025 and previous years.
The 36th International Biology Olympiad took place in the Republic of the Philippines from July 19 to July 27, with the participation of 81 delegations from 81 countries and territories (including 3 observer delegations), and a total of 298 contestants.
