BAC NINH - Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee (PPC) Pham Hoang Son on April 7 met with executives of Shun-Far Land Development Co., Ltd. (Taiwan, China) to accelerate the implementation of the Thuan Thanh II urban area project.

The project was first licensed on November 25, 2012, covering 47.15 hectares in Thuan Thanh ward and Mao Dien, with total registered investment of nearly 280 billion VND (10.6 million USD). Adjustments to the investment certificate were approved in 2014 and 2015.

However, implementation has faced a number of obstacles, leading to delays.

Following a review, the provincial People’s Committee agreed in principle to allow the company to continue the project, provided it meets requirements on financial capacity, commits to a clear timeline and complies with relevant regulations.

Speaking at the meeting, the PPC Chairman Pham Hoang Son acknowledged and welcomed Lin’s constructive and objective assessment of Bac Ninh’s investment environment, while noting the company’s initial contributions in the province.

He highlighted that the infrastructure project at Thuan Thanh Industrial Park has reached full occupancy, but the Thuan Thanh II urban and service project remains behind schedule.

The Chairman urged the company to accelerate implementation, starting with appointing focal points to work with provincial departments, reviewing and adjusting project boundaries in line with planning, coordinating with authorities to reissue the investment certificate, fulfilling financial obligations, and revising detailed planning to match development orientations.

He also instructed relevant departments and local authorities to proactively coordinate and provide maximum support to help the investor complete procedures and speed up progress.

Highlighting the development potential south of the Duong River, the provincial leader noted that the area is set to benefit from the Gia Binh International Airport project and connecting transport routes, which are expected to drive socio-economic growth across the province.

He called on Shun-Far to seize these opportunities, mobilize resources to expedite the project, and continue introducing Taiwanese businesses to explore investment opportunities in Bac Ninh.
