Provincial Party leader receives representatives of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd.
BAC NINH - Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, on April 6 received and held a working session with a delegation from Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd.
On behalf of the company, General Director Kim Sung Hun, along with directors of the import-export, administration, and finance departments, attended the meeting.

During the event, Kim expressed his sincere thanks to the leadership of Bac Ninh province for taking the time to receive and work with the delegation. He provided a brief introduction of the company’s history, potential, and strengths.
In Bac Ninh, the company was first granted an investment certificate in November 2021 and has since invested approximately 800 million USD at Yen Phong 2C Industrial Park.

The firm has leased 23 hectares of land with established infrastructure and officially commenced operations in Q3/2024. The company’s investment objective is to manufacture, assemble, and test semiconductor materials and equipment, with a capacity of 1,600 tonnes per year.
Currently, it employs more than 1,500 workers, mainly local, with an average income of over 12 million VND (455 USD) per month per employee.

On this occasion, Kim proposed that the province urge the Government to consider a support policy equivalent to 3% of total investment capital to enhance competitiveness and attract investment in the semiconductor sector.
He also suggested measures to retain and encourage long-term engagement of employees in the semiconductor industry, and policies to prioritise energy supply for semiconductor production facilities in case of shortages.
Speaking at the working session, the provincial Party leader warmly welcomed the delegation of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd.
He affirmed that the province always considers FDI enterprises, especially in high-tech and semiconductor industries, as key drivers for economic growth, economic restructuring, and development quality improvement.
He acknowledged and highly valued the company’s proposals, including the support mechanism based on a percentage of total investment. He requested the company to continue coordinating with relevant authorities to review and complete its documents to access existing support mechanisms.

Meanwhile, Bac Ninh will submit the proposals to the Government and central agencies for consideration during policy review and finalisation.
Thai stated that the province is committed to accompanying and creating the most favourable conditions for businesses within the legal framework.
He also expressed his hope that Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. will continue to develop steadily and maintain close cooperation with provincial agencies in the implementation of future collaborative initiatives.
