Bac Ninh’s athlete wins gold medal at the world wushu championships

BAC NINH- The world wushu championships took place from September 1 to 7 in Brazil, gathering hundreds of marital artists from different countries and territories. This is an elite tournament of the most excellent marital artists worldwide.

The Vietnam sport delegation attended the competition with a strong lineup, featuring top athletes, aiming not only for medals but also gaining valuable experience in preparation for major arenas such as the ASIAD and SEA Games.

Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (on the 1st podium) wins the gold medal at the tournament.

Among the Vietnam’s athletes, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, representing the Bac Ninh sport delegation, had a brilliant performance to claim the gold medal in the 56kg sanda event, further cementing the growing stature of Vietnamese wushu in the international arena.

Thu Thuy had to overcome 4 intense competitions at the tournament to reach the gold medal. In the earlier rounds, she defeated strong opponents with her intelligent tactics, precise technique and remarkable resilience fueled by unwavering determination.

Thu Thuy’s outstanding achievement will be a powerful motivator, fueling the aspiration of young athletes to conquer new heights, while further elevating the position of Vietnamese wushu on the global sports map.
