The tournament, known as the Donex Cup, was held from Aug 25 to 31 at the Lam Dong Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center.

It brought together 457 athletes from 25 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide, competing in singles and doubles events across multiple age groups.

Bac Ninh sent a delegation of 44 players, including 22 boys. Six of them reached the finals, securing a total of two gold, four silver and eight bronze medals.

The gold medals went to Chu Tuan Kiet and Nguyen Khanh Linh in the U13 mixed doubles event, and to Nguyen Bao Ngoc and Ngo Vu Thao Linh in the U15 girls’ doubles.

Bac Ninh athletes also won silver and bronze medals across several categories including U19 mixed doubles, U17 mixed doubles, U19 boys’ doubles, U17 boys’ doubles, U11 boys’ singles, U13 girls’ singles, U15 girls’ singles, U11 girls’ doubles, U11 boys’ doubles, U13 boys’ doubles and U17 girls’ doubles.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the annual tournament aims to discover and nurture Vietnam’s young badminton talent.

It provides opportunities for young athletes to compete and improve their skills, while helping local sports authorities and clubs identify and train future players for the national team.
