The tournament was jointly held by Vietnam Chess Federation and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province, attracting 500 chess masters from 23 provinces, cities and agencies across the country.

In chess event, Bac Ninh delegation consisting of 64 players won 29 gold, 33 silver and 44 bronze medals, clinching the overall first place. Particularly, the chess master Cao Minh Trang won 1 gold medal in Asian rapid chess category while Do Ha Trang excellently bagged 4 gold and 2 silver medals.

In the go event, 26 players of Bac Ninh delegation competed in the categories of championship, youth, rapid chess, blitz chess and super blitz chess. They won a tally of 45 medals of different types including 12 gold, 14 silver and 19 bronze medals, ranking 2nd, after Ho Chi Minh city.

Some players gained high achievements including Nguyen Nam Hoang with 5 gold medals, 1 bronze medal (2 gold medals in individual rapid chess and blitz chess categories, 1 bronze medal in individual super blitz chess championship and 3 team gold medals) and Nguyen Tran Hai Dang wining 3 individual gold medals in 11-year-old men’s category.
