Of the total, 95.1 hectares are large-timber forests, while more than 1,000 hectares are small-timber plantations. In addition, around 30 hectares of small-timber forests have been converted into large-timber forests, and more than 2,300 hectares of planted forests have received tending and care.
By management area, communes under the Son Dong inter-communal Forest Protection Department rank first in the province with 632.5 hectares of newly planted forests. They are followed by communes under the Luc Nam inter-communal Forest Protection Department with 285 hectares, and those under the Yen The inter-communal Forest Protection Department with 152.7 hectares.
Alongside concentrated afforestation, the scattered tree-planting movement has also been widely implemented across the province. To date, more than 240,000 trees have been planted.
The forestry sector attributes the strong increase in planted forest area to the proactive efforts of local authorities in preparing planting sites and selecting forestry seedlings with clear origins and high quality.
At the same time, the nationwide tree-planting campaign “Tet tree-planting festival in eternal gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh” has been launched simultaneously since the beginning of the Lunar New Year, attracting broad participation from residents, organizations and businesses.
