PM urges completion of housing for national contributors by July 24
The prime minister has called for bold actions to complete the goal of eliminating substandard housing nationwide by the end of August and for national contributors and families of fallen soldiers by July 24.
In a notice issued by the Government Office on July 16, the prime minister highlighted that the elimination of temporary and dilapidated housing is an especially important political task, reflecting the Party and state’s care for the people and their tribute to heroes, martyrs, and contributors to the revolution.

He requested that houses for national contributors be completed by July 24 to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
The government leader asked the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs to work with the Ministry of Construction and localities to review and ensure the data on temporary and dilapidated housing is correct, and to take appropriate measures to fulfil the set goals.
The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Public Security are requested to mobilise local forces to contribute manpower and materials for the substandard housing elimination programme.
As of July 8, localities nationwide have provided assistance towards building and renovating over 264,000 houses, with 19 out of 34 provinces and cities completing the substandard housing elimination programme for all three groups of beneficiaries.
