Trade unions accompany workers through practical actions
With a large workforce, Bac Ninh province consistently prioritises protecting and improving the lives of labourers through concrete, practical initiatives.
From signing collective labour agreements, organising cultural and sports activities, hosting “trade union meals,” to providing welfare support and holding regular dialogues, trade unions at all levels in the province are joining hands to build a fair and friendly working environment.

These efforts contribute to motivating workers to stay committed and devoted to their jobs.
Right at the beginning of July, the atmosphere at Electric Connector Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. (located in the expanded Yen Phong Industrial Park) was vibrant with a sports tournament celebrating the 96th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union.
The event attracted over 100 worker-athletes from various workshops, competing in disciplines such as football, table tennis, badminton, chess, and tug of war. Matches were scheduled after working hours and on weekends to ensure workers’ health and convenience.
The Standing Committee of the provincial Federation of Labour highly values the role of grassroots trade unions in representing and supporting workers by protecting their legitimate rights and interests.

Currently, the province has 2,211 enterprise-based grassroots trade unions with nearly 537,000 members. Under the close guidance of the provincial Federation of Labour and higher-level trade unions, grassroots units have flexibly and proactively organised many practical activities, guided by the principle of “putting members at the centre.”
To foster harmonious labour relations, grassroots trade unions have proactively coordinated in organising dialogues between employees and employers, and in advising and negotiating with businesses to sign collective labour agreements.
As of now, 1,656 out of 2,211 (75%) enterprises with trade unions in the province have conducted negotiations and signed collective labour agreements, ensuring better protection of workers’ rights.
In parallel, efforts to disseminate labour laws and new government policies have been implemented effectively, helping workers enhance their understanding and defend their legitimate interests.
Emulation movements such as “Excellent Labour and Creative Labour,” and “Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring Occupational Safety and Hygiene” are increasingly widespread among workers.
Cultural and sports activities, programmes like “Tet of Reunion,” and “Workers’ Month,” commendation for innovations, and timely support for workers in hardship - all have been carried out with a strong sense of responsibility and deep empathy.
These practical actions and companionship have helped affirm the increasingly solid role and position of trade unions in the hearts of workers. They are not just a place to protect rights, but a common home where workers place their trust, find support, and feel secure in working.
