Working “around the clock” for key construction projects
BAC NINH- In the festive atmosphere when the whole nation is preparing for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, engineers and workers are actively stepping up their efforts, working overtime and additional shifts to speed up schedule of key projects.
On the initial days of March, hundreds of engineers and workers are working tirelessly for the construction project of the lengthened 293 provincial road, the section from Kham Lang junction to Quynh market in Nghia Phuong commune (belonging to former Luc Nam district) to complete the items on schedule.

The project is valued at 791 billion VND (30.4 million USD). The Luc Nam Construction Investment Project Management Board is the project investor.
The road is 8km long and designed following the class III plain road standards with a roadbed width of 12 metres and a road surface of 11 metres.
The road structure comprises asphalt concrete over a crushed-stone base, including bridges, roadworks and a synchronized technical infrastructure system, which has been implemented by several construction bid packages.
The project starts at the intersection of national highway 37 and provincial road 293 and ends at km8+805, about 400 metres from Quynh market in Nghia Phuong commune.
According to the investor, the land clearance has met the requirements that facilitated related units to mobilise workforce and machinery to speed up the progress.
Many important items have been completed at the bridge construction site. Taking advantage of favourable weather, the contractor has mobilized drilling machines, cranes and other equipment to work around the clock when different teams have run three shifts a day. This route is scheduled to open to traffic in December 2026.
The construction site of Van Thai drainage culvert in Trung Chinh commune belonging to the dyke system on the right bank of Thai Binh river also sees bustling working atmosphere.
Right after the Lunar New Year holiday, the contractors have gathered human resources and equipment to implement the project items.
The contractors have implemented many items including opening a temporary bypass road serving construction activities, driving sheet piles around the foundation pit and drilling to reinforce the dyke foundation.
It is expected to complete the bypass road and main foundation items by late March 2026 to carry out next steps.
Van Thai drainage culvert is built with reinforced concrete and solid foundation to ensure safety of the dyke system. After completion, the project together with Van Thai A drainage pumping station will meet the drainage demand for more than 4,500 hectares of agricultural land around the area of former Luong Tai district.
The project was commenced in December 2025 with a total investment of around 145 billion VND (5.57 million USD) from the province’s contingency budget.
The construction site of the social housing project in Que Vo ward is also busy with vehicles transporting construction materials where workers are accelerating infrastructure construction and completing items insides the apartments.
The site management board has launched an emulative movement among the teams to create an enthusiasm working atmosphere. The main construction teams have worked overtime even at weekends. Each team has been assigned specific work volumes.
The social housing project in Que Vo ward consists of four 12-floor buildings and 914 apartments. The first 2 buildings have finished inspection and acceptance of the fire protection and firefighting system while the other 2 buildings are expected to complete this work in March.
The initial apartments have been handed over to customers for interior installation since March 9. The investor targeted to bring all apartments into use in June 2026.
Tens of large-scale traffic and public welfare projects in the entire province are being accelerated construction such as Gia Binh international airport project, Kenh Vang bridge, belt road No 4 (the section crossing Bac Ninh province) and many social housing projects.
Investors and contractors are mobilising workforce and equipment as well as organizing several construction fronts divided into “3 shifts and 4 teams” per day to reduce the completion time.
