3,000 jobs open at Vietnam's upcoming Long Thanh airport

Updated: 09:00, 20/08/2025

More than 3,000 jobs are about to take off at Long Thanh International Airport, with a major recruitment fair on Aug. 23 opening fresh opportunities for local workers and graduates in southern Vietnam.

The fair, held in southern Dong Nai Province and organized by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), is designed to build up the workforce ahead of the airport's first operational phase. Organizers expect around 2,000 jobseekers, many of them students from Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, to attend.

A terminal of the Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam, is under construction.

Available roles range from operations engineers and equipment maintenance technicians to specialists in electronics, automation and chemical testing. ACV alone is looking to hire 1,400 staff, while airlines and ground service firms are set to bring on nearly 1,500 more.

Beyond hiring, the event will include career forums and guidance sessions hosted by the Vietnam Aviation Academy, helping candidates chart a pathway into one of the region's future aviation hubs.

"ACV prioritizes recruiting local residents, especially families who have supported the airport project," a company representative said.

When phase one is complete, Long Thanh Airport, 40 km from HCMC, is expected to need about 14,000 workers. Dong Nai has already launched a training and workforce development plan through 2026, aiming to support nearly 5,000 locals in finding jobs tied to the airport and beyond.

The megaproject, covering 5,000 hectares with an investment of nearly VND336.63 trillion (US$13.2 billion), is slated to open on Dec. 19 and is expected to become one of Southeast Asia's largest aviation gateways.
