Bac Ninh bags 16 medals at 2025 National Chinese Chess Team Championship
BAC NINH - The 2025 National Chinese Chess Team Championship wrapped up on July 27 after 10 days of exciting and fierce competition. Bac Ninh delegation won the second place overall.
The tournament was jointly held by the General Department of Physical Education and Sports (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Vietnam Chess Federation and the Department of Culture and Sports of Thanh Hoa province. It took place from 17 to 27 July, attracting nearly 300 players from 20 provinces, cities and agencies nationwide.

The players competed at 4 different events including standard chess, rapid chess, blitz chess and super blitz chess in individual, doubles and team categories, divided by men and women’s age groups.
Bac Ninh province participated in this tournament with 31 players competing in all categories. Overall, it bagged total 16 medals including 8 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals. With this result, Bac Ninh delegation was ranked 2nd, after Ho Chi Minh city.
Particularly, at the men’s team standard chess category, the chess masters Dinh Tu, Do Nhu Khanh, Tran Anh Dung and Giap Xuan Cuong had outstanding performances and defeated Dong Nai team, who owned 3 top national chess masters to bag 1 gold medal.
In the rapid chess mixed double event, Dinh Tu and Phung Bao Quyen competed confidently with effective coordination and defeated many strong opponents to claim the top podium position.
Nguyen Anh Tu won a gold medal at men’s individual traditional rapid chess after an intense competition.
Do Hong Son also bagged a gold medal at men’s individual traditional super blitz chess.
Especially, the female chess master Quach Minh Chau became the most outstanding face in the delegation to win 4 gold medals at women’s individual traditional chess in all of 4 events including standard, rapid, blitz and super blitz.
